The workshops listed in the calendar are offered in
several countries. Updating a multilingual website is a
complex administrative task. We looked for good
balance between administration and offering the work
of 5Rhythms. Visitors from the Netherlands will land on
a Dutch homepage. Visitors from other countries will
land on an English homepage. Please contact us if
something on this website is unclear to you. We will
help you with pleasure.
There is no right and wrong in this practice. The
learning curve is to bring your attention to the body
and with that to the present moment. The present
moment has the potency to become fully alive and
this is why we dance. At the first time thoughts such as
“What am I doing here?” might come up. Give yourself
time to adjust and try to be kind to yourself. Move
your body and it will change; change is the power of
the practice. 5Rhythms is a basic and physical
meditation practice. To shift your attention to your
feet is a helpful way to start. Enjoy your first time,
move as you want.
TEMPORARY ON HOLD. Online events are classes
offered for home practice. Ron offers his online classes
via the 5Rhythms Global LiveStream platform. This is a
real-time broadcast of video and sound organized by
5Rhythms Global. You can watch the class on demand
for one month after the live stream. What you need is a
smartphone or computer with internet connection and
- for best sound & dance experience - an external
speaker. It is not interactive, so you don't need a
microphone, camera or app, and no complicated setup.
The quality of image and sound is of the highest level.
Want to see a short impression? Watch the welcome
video. You participate by creating an account on the
5Rhythms LiveStream website.
Keep on dancing and make it a practice to show up
however you feel. 5Rhythms is not only about feeling
good. It is a way to be truthful to yourself and move
with whatever comes your way. Maybe you feel bored,
tense, or sad - there is a dance for every moment and
every state of being. Gabrielle Roth created a map of
different levels. Your first session was most likely a
‘Waves’ class or workshop. Waves is the first level and
the physical foundation of the practice. The other
maps are Heartbeat (our emotions), Cycles (our life
cycles), Mirrors (our ego), and Silver Dessert (our spirit).
Every level has a different focus and learning
perspectives. 5Rhythms can be experienced in two-
hour classes, weekend- and longer workshops. The
newsletter gives you an update of global workshops
and latest 5Rhythms news. Join now!
All conscious movement forms work on the intention to
expand our freedom and move the way we want.
5Rhythms is a movement meditation which includes
understanding of the contradiction between freedom
and discipline. It needs discipline to become a free
spirit. Becoming free does not mean we do what we
want. It means we do what is needed in a certain
situation. We learn to increase our resilience and
practice our ability to say ‘yes’, ‘no’, or ‘maybe’ to
ourselves and the world around us. 5Rhythms is based
on the Wave® of five rhythms. A natural flow of energy
that releases our full potential.
Enthusiasm and love for this practice are the best
ingredients to keep moving. You do your first class, join
a weekender, and want to experience more. Welcome in
this tribe. To become a teacher you need to dance a lot,
really a lot! You need to physically embody the
5Rhythms and to learn what the 5Rhythms philosophy
is. You need to learn how to move with emotions, move
through life stages, and explore your ego. Still
interested? After all these dances there is a professional
teacher training waiting for you. All teachers who are
part of the 5Rhythms Teachers’ Association will support
you on the road to this teacher training.
5RTA is an abbreviation of 5Rhythms Teachers
Association. Teachers who are members of the 5RTA
commit to regular training updates. In addition, they are
expected to respect the Code of Ethics. Do you want to
know what they are about? Download a copy (pdf). If
you want to become a teacher then it is good to know
that only the classes and workshops of 5RTA teachers
are valid as preparation for the teacher training. All
associated members are listed on the 5Rhythms Global
website or in the mobile App.
